Questions people ask first.
Is this a medical device?
No. MirrorSays gives cosmetic, style and general fitness guidance. It does not diagnose or treat any condition. If something on your skin worries you, see a dermatologist.
Does it work on every skin tone?
It has to, or it doesn't ship. MirrorSays is being tested across all six Fitzpatrick skin types, and the first batch won't go out until the readings are accurate on every one of them.
Is it for men or women?
Both. Skin, haircut and glasses work for everyone. Beard and makeup shade are there when you want them.
When does it ship?
We're building the first batch now. People on the waitlist get the date first, and get to order first.
Is it always watching or listening?
No. The camera sits hidden inside the frame, where it can't see anything. It slides up only when you say “Mirror, mirror” or tap the glass, and slides back down after the scan. The mirror listens only for those two words, on the device, and records nothing else.
Can I try on clothes from any store?
Share a product page from your phone to the MirrorSays app and cast it to the mirror. It works best with partner stores and with product pages that have clear photos. Try-on shows how a piece looks on you. Fit still varies by brand.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Scans, recommendations and try-ons work on the mirror out of the box. The optional $1.99 a month membership adds the phone app, your full history and progress tracking.
How accurate is the body fat number?
It's an estimate based on your proportions. It's best for watching your trend week to week. It is not a medical measurement.
Where does it go?
On the wall or on a counter stand, anywhere you'd put a normal mirror near an outlet. It works as a regular lit mirror while the camera is down.
